What to say about Marlene McKinnon? I guess there's not much, really. I'm the daughter of Liam McKinnon, who was in Ravenclaw during his Hogwarts years, and Marla Andrews-McKinnon, who is a muggle woman my father fell in love with after he graduated. I'm also the older sister of Brendon McKinnon, who is now a fifth year Ravenclaw. I'm a rather simple girl. I'm a sixth year Ravenclaw at Hogwarts. I'm half-blood. To me that doesn't make me any less of a witch, but to some people it does. I'm smarter than most of the pure-bloods my age. My best friend often tells me I'm too smart for my own good. Maybe, just maybe I am. I'm proud of my intelligence though. I don't care what people say. I'm quick witted, very intuitive and I make high marks with little effort. I guess I take my house to heart, but I enjoy it. I can often be found in the library studying. If my homework is done, I'm usually doing extra studying or leisurely reading. My favorite classes are History of Magic and Care of Magical Creatures. I'm taking both as well as several other classes related to my future career.

As I said before, my two favorite subjects in school are History of Magic and Care of Magical Creatures. Why, you ask? That's simple enough. History fascinates me, muggle and wizarding history. I like knowing what happened to make the world as we know it now. I love historic buildings and artifacts. They have so many stories to tell. I also love magical creatures and muggle animals. So, yes, I guess I'm in tune with my muggle half as well. I don't really see any problem with that. I know how to use just about any muggle device as well. I was raise learning magic and how to do things the muggle way. In some cases I may never need to know how to be a muggle, but I'm glad to know just in case the situation arises.

When I got my Hogwarts letter, I wasn't surprised. As I said, I grew up learning about both my muggle and wizarding heritage. I was excited to attend the school and couldn't wait for September 1st to arrive so I could board the Hogwarts Express. When the wondrous day finally arrived, I went onto the train, excited. I sat with two girls, Hestia and Janie. Hestia was a girl with an older sister who was in Ravenclaw. Like I was, she was sure she'd be sorted into Ravenclaw. Janie was a muggleborn witch who knew nothing about Hogwarts or it's houses. When we arrived at Hogwarts, we went with all the other first years to get sorted in front of the rest of the school. All three of us were sorted into Ravenclaw.
